European Golf Design have signed a contract with Bacassa Developments to design a new 18 hole golf course in Barbados.

Black Bess Plantation, in the parish of St Peter overlooks the north west coast of the island with breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea. The 245 acre site, bordered by a lush tropical gully to the south is a mix of sugar cane fields, orchard groves and non-arable land. Private trails meander through the cane fields and along the edge of the gully.

Apart from the golf course, the project will also include the construction of a spa hotel operated by leading hoteliers Banyan Tree which will be their first hotel in the Caribbean. High quality villas and townhouses will also be constructed. Working alongside EGD are EDAW who are responsible for the landscape architecture and masterplanning.
