Witness tomorrow’s cricket legends perform from July 7 – 24, 2008 during the 22nd Digicel Sir Garfield Sobers International Schools Cricket Tournament. There will be loads of cricketing action as 20 skillful under-19 teams from eight countries across the Caribbean and the UK are given the golden opportunity to represent their territories at a truly international tourney. History Since the year 1986 the Sir Garfield Sobers International Schools Cricket Tournament has given school boys the rare opportunity of playing in an international tournament. The first chair was the late, Alvin Burgess the linchpin of the tourney from 1987 – 1993. Since then Morris Greenidge, former sports tourism consultant at the Barbados Tourism Authority has championed the committee of key national sports administrators and sponsors. To date this tournament that has groomed the likes of retired West Indies captain, Brian Lara, Darren Ganga, Roland Holder, and several English and South African test match players.
