A view from the course of the Rally Carnival.Barbados is home to some serious car aficionados and the motorcar rally is one of the most eagerly anticipated festivals on the island. The bright sunshine, narrow winding roads, breathtaking vistas of the sea, and picturesque country villages make our country one of the best places to tour by car.

Racers also appreciate the loud support and obliging nature of the people. Rally participants have blown tires on the road and been helped by local supporters, and when they've run into more serious trouble the local mechanic is immediately on the scene. Car-crazy Barbadians love to have a good story to tell over a Banks beer at the end of the day.

Loud support for the drivers has fostered an intimate relationship between the fans and their champions. Rally car racers are often heard to proclaim the greatness of the fans in the press after an event, and love to entertain on the course. Impressive cornering on the tight roads frequently has spectators holding their collective breath, and drivers have been known to spin the occasional figure eight in the sugarcane field for the sheer love of the sport.

The award presentation takes place at the Boatyard, a popular club in the midst of the beach party circuit. Fans and drivers alike toast the day's entertainment far into the next day. Grab your hat and join in!
