Attractions Water Activities Boating

Long since the first Portuguese ships caught site of “Los Barbados”, sailors have been drawn to this island idyll. With its gentle southeasterly trade winds and dazzling turquoise waters, Barbados offers exceptional conditions for those who desire to navigate its seas.

The variety of charter boats for hire is plentiful, with all vessels meticulously maintained and manned by experienced, friendly crews. Most ships set sail from Bridgetown and head north along the more composed waters of the island’s west coast. Here, visitors can enjoy an afternoon of snorkeling and, as a highlight to the day, swim with a bale of gentle sea turtles.

For special occasions, private charter cruises can also be obtained. In this way you can enjoy the company of family or a few close friends while having the freedom to choose your setting and menu. The crew takes care of the rest.

life lessons: the barbados yacht club

Formed in 1924, the Club sponsors a yearly racing program, including the annual Mount Gay Rum Boatyard Regatta, and is a meeting place for its members and visiting yachtsmen. In addition, the Barbados Sailing Association also uses the facilities to instruct aspiring sailors.
