Psychotherapy in Nature
Come and recharge, regroup, realign, or rejuvenate for an hour; half or full day, or an overnight stay! Join us in the tranquil forest for some restorative healing; explore your past and current relationships, process trauma, and learn more about yourself with the help of the beautiful horses…. Indulge in a body-mind experience with an energy healing massage, or meditate with our miniature donkeys!! Immersing yourself in nature through a containing, safe, and nurturing session or program will leave you feeling cleansed, refreshed, and ready to face anything the world brings. Longer psychotherapeutic programs are available for a range of mild-severe symptoms.
Psychotherapy in Nature’s bespoke approach is unique in comparison to other therapy services, as not only do we work primarily outdoors in nature; We use an alternative therapeutic framework that allows longer, one-off, or less frequent sessions (avoiding clinical, weekly appointments), supporting a client-led, flexible model. The concept is not dissimilar to going to the day spa for psychological wellbeing, however, it has a solid evidence base for efficacy.
Our psychologist, Philippa, is UK trained with a doctoral background in Counselling Psychology, as well as being a leading expert in the area of equine facilitated psychotherapy. She provides a full range of psychological services ranging from consultation, assessment, individual, and group therapy, to clinical supervision, consultation, and training for practitioners. Recently she has trained in a cutting-edge body trauma therapy, which she also incorporates into her practice. Philippa is an accomplished practitioner and author, with various publications in the area of equine facilitated psychotherapy, nature therapy, and psychological trauma, and has specialised in providing therapy outside in nature for almost a decade.
Philippa offers a broad base to explore how best to support your goals and healing. Whether you are looking for self-exploration, psychotherapy for a specific issue, or simply wanting to indulge in a one-off therapeutic experience in nature: Philippa has a kind, patient, and empathic approach, coupled with strong formulative skills, providing a platform for evidence-based practice in a range of settings.
