life lessons: hike barbados

Conceivably the best way to discover all of the many subtleties of Barbados is to do so on foot. By venturing out off the beaten track, you’re sure to gather a fascinating perspective on island life as you interact with the stunning natural surroundings.

As a desirable year-round destination, any time is ideal for hiking in Barbados. Though the rainy season from June to November could occasionally greet you with a sudden, but most likely brief, tropical downpour.

Of all of the places to wander, the eastern and northern sides of the island provide the most promising journeys. Here you can bear witness to the windswept landscapes of the Atlantic coast as well as the craggy cliffs that are more suggestive of Northern California or the Western Irish coast. Additionally, one can enjoy the inland pathways which lead to many historical sites as well as grant an intimate view of the varied flora and fauna that populate the island.
