11 Things To Do On Date Night in Barbados

When the sun sets on the shores of the island, Barbados’ nightlife takes on a new feel.  Whistling frogs call to each other in the distance and the moon lights the way for the stars to dance all night long - while the heavens put on a show above. It’s a perfect time for a romantic interlude with that special someone. But if you are unsure of what the most romantic places are that you can explore. Here are the top eleven things to do on a date night out in Bim - where you can find some of the best nightlife in Barbados! From a romantic beach-side dinner to an exciting road trip under the stars, Barbados is your Oyster. Eventually,  you really must try them all!

1. Golden amber lights dot the entry-way to Tapas,  a favourite for fine dining in Barbados. Here the sea breeze tangles with the spicy aroma of Italian-Caribbean flavour. The best seats for two are in the open-air hub; gaze at shy waves as you enjoy a tantalising meal. After, escape onto a dimly-lit boardwalk, hand-in-hand with your loved one (or maybe, your soon-to-be!). Return to a treat of fine wine or a cocktail mixed by expert mixologists. Tapas was recently awarded the BHTA restaurant of the year award; not merely due to the food but the excellent service of your host Alfredo, whose warmth will calm all your romantic nerves.

2. Nestled in the cosy east coast village of Bath, you can enjoy a beach house get-away for the night. There is nothing better after a night out of partying than lounging in a luxurious East Coast villa with your loved one. Escape the crowds and relax under the stars, being pampered by friendly staff. Get ready the next day for adventures of kayaking, swimming and plenty of photos!

3. For a more low-key setting, Bajans are lovers of Karaoke. Whether on the west or south coast it won’t be challenging to find a bar to showcase your talents and have fun! Karaoke events are great for meeting new people who can often let you in on the best entertainment spots in the island. For those staying on the West Coast in St. James, a visit to First Street in Holetown allows you to discover their ‘Karaoke in the street night’. Most bars and rum shops tend to have karaoke nights on Fridays or Saturdays.

4. While you are there you can Bar-hop through Holetown’s 1st and 2nd street. The west coast offers just as much of Barbados’ nightlife as does the south. If you’re in the mood for cocktails and partying, Red Door and Jamestown Bar are two of the best nightclubs in Barbados with the occasional celebrity popping in and out!

5. A classic date night out finds you at Limegrove cinemas in Holetown.  Take in a modern boutique cinema with 3d Dolby and digital surround sound, and lounger seating options - extreme comfort with exquisite service. Open Friday, Saturdays and Sundays it is perfect for a weekend night out. If you prefer the more intimate setting - just the two of you - then the Globe Drive-In is perfect. Found on the South Coast of Barbados, relax in the privacy of your car under the stars with your loved one to enjoy a blockbuster or two.

6. Spice up your date night out at Tagore’s Restaurant located in the shopping centre of Lantern’s mall. Tagore’s serves authentic Indian cuisine ranging from curries to kebabs. All dishes are served with complimentary naan bread and basmati rice. With its dim golden lighting at a table for two and friendly staff, Tagore’s restaurant is perfect for a romantic night out. Although the inside is quite intimate, you can also choose to eat outside overlooking the third-floor terrace. Located in Hastings Christ Church, Tagore’s restaurant is easily discovered but not easily forgotten.

7. Don’t leave Lantern’s mall just yet! After your spicy delight at Tagore’s, you may be in the mood for dessert. Fix Cafe, located just downstairs offers a variety of ice-cream flavours, sorbet, gelatos and more!  Sit inside their chic but cosy cafe, or you can take a stroll around the mall with your loved one while sipping on a warm coffee.

8. St. Lawrence Gap in Christ Church is great for partying or for a romantic stroll! As you enter, you can briefly enjoy the picturesque views of the sea-side as you walk through. Once there, pop into any of the bars for a drink, or maybe a street-side snack. Bajans party both inside and outside of the clubs and there are new and exciting places to be discovered as you travel along.

9. A classy night out can take you to PM Splash. An art show hosted by Barbados’ most prominent young artists, PM Splash is held at Sweetfield Manor once every month. There you can interact with artists such as Von Hall and Shane Eastmond as you sip wine and glance in awe at their masterpieces. PM Splash is both social and intimate, offering live entertainment by singers like Kris Irie as the night draws to a close.

10. Looking for organic reggae vibes, sweet mojitos and an earthy ambience? Then you can find it at Mojo's bar and restaurant on the south coast. Dance under the stars; you won’t regret it, swaying to the luscious rhythms of a live reggae band and sipping on a strawberry daiquiri.
